Valentin Spruck supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Valentin gained relevant transaction experience through internships at Ufenau in Pfäffikon, Naxicap Partners (Private Equity) and Yttrium (Growth Equity). Valentin gained further experience on the limited partner side at HQ Trust (Family Office).

Valentin is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from Goethe University Frankfurt. During his studies, he gained experience abroad at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China).

Ignacio Castellar Cuadrado supports the Spanish investment team to execute transactions as well as with research and analysis tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Ignacio gained experience in venture capital as an associate at the investment fund GED Capital in its Madrid office. Previously, he worked in strategic consulting at Arthur D. Little, where he advised international companies on strategic and operational issues.

Ignacio holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School. In addition to his studies in Barcelona (Spain), he studied abroad at the University of San Diego (USA).

Nikola Engelhardt is Head of ESG at Ufenau Capital Partners.

Before joining Ufenau, she was responsible for ESG at Capvis, a Swiss Private Equity Company, as ESG Program Manager. Nikola has 20+ years of professional experience as consultant, trainer, entrepreneur and general manager. Among others, she worked for TNS Infratest (Kantar Group), arvato Bertelsmann, more than 10 years for various portfolio companies of Capvis, and until today for Engelhardt Training.

Nikola holds an Executive Master in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) and a Master’s degree in Business Administrations from the University of Bayreuth (Germany).

Nicole Wiesinger is part of the finance team in Pfäffikon.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Nicole gained experience in private equity at Capvis AG in Zug, where she was part of the finance team as well as the ESG team. Before that, she worked at Empira AG in Zug as a Senior Finance Manager and as Head of Finance at Rhein Petroleum GmbH in Heidelberg. Nicole started her career in audit and advisory.

Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from SRH Hochschule Heidelberg.

Fryderyk Janik supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Fryderyk Janik was an Investment Associate at Tar Heel Capital, where he gained transaction experience, particularly in the healthcare and industrial sectors. Prior to that, he spent over 3.5 years in the M&A department at PwC, providing sell-side advisory services on leading transactions in Poland across both private and public sectors.

Fryderyk Janik holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from King’s Business School at King’s College London, UK.

Suus van der Wijk supports the Dutch investment team in the execution of transactions, as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Suus van der Wijk was a Financial Services M&A Analyst at Alvarez & Marsal. She also gained relevant experience in transaction and financial advisory through internships at an M&A boutique and Deloitte.

Suus van der Wijk holds a master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management and a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Marcel Brull supports the Spanish investment team in the execution of transactions, as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Marcel Brull gained transaction and financial advisory experience through internships at the investment banking boutiques Aticeo Capital and XP Advisory.

Marcel Brull holds a master’s degree in international finance from HEC Paris and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from UPC.

William Clegg has over 13 years of experience in private equity.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, William Clegg gained private equity experience at Lazard’s Private Capital Advisory Group in London and New York, where he worked with multiple European and North American LMM/MM private equity firms. Following this, in 2017, William co-founded the Moelis & Co. EMEA Private Capital Advisory Group, where he was responsible for the coverage of institutional LPs through the U.K., Europe and the Middle East. Before joining Ufenau, William set-up an independent boutique placement agent, Colmar Capital, specialised in primary capital raising and secondary advisory transactions on a global basis.

William Clegg holds a Bachelor’s of Science (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Bristol.

Peter Eckersley supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Peter gained private equity experience as an Investment Director at Sovereign Capital Partners, where he was involved in several Buy & Build focused investments in the UK. Previously, he was a Vice President at Fenchurch Advisory Partners where he worked on both corporate and private equity M&A transactions in the financial services sector. He started his career at KPMG where he qualified as an accountant, successfully completing the CIMA program.

Peter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds.

Tim Lange supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Tim gained relevant transaction experience through internships at Carlsquare in London (M&A Investment Banking), Avedon Capital Partners (Private Equity) and Fidelium Partners (Private Equity). Tim also gained further transaction experience at Rautenberg & Company in Corporate Finance / M&A Advisory.

Tim holds a Master’s degree in Financial Management from Nova School of Business and Economics. During his studies, he gained experience abroad at HEC Lausanne (Switzerland) and Shanghai University (China).

Labinot Tahiri supports the Ufenau team on all ESG-related tasks while also being involved in the execution of transactions, as well as in analysis and research tasks within the investment team.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Labinot Tahiri gained relevant experience in transactions, strategic management, and ESG through various internships at AURELIUS (Private Equity), Quadriga Capital (Private Equity), Deutsche Börse Group, and the Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin.

Labinot Tahiri completed his Master’s in Management at EBS University of Business and Law (Oestrich Winkel) and his Bachelor’s in Economics, Politics, and History in Wuppertal. During his studies, he gained international experience at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University in the USA.

Vassilios Kangelidis is Financial Controller at U Fund Services and supports in the preparation of drawdowns, distributions, coordinating investment funding/schedules, and ensuring completion of fund reports and audits.

Prior joining UFS, Vassilios worked in Luxemburg as Financial Analyst in the European Headquarters of Amazon Inc. in the Central Financial Planning and Analysis department.

He completed an internship at 4P Consulting in the field of strategy consulting for financial service provider and banks in Stuttgart.

Michal Grodzicki supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Michal Grodzicki gained private equity experience as an Investment Director at Resource Partners in Warsaw, where he was involved in several leveraged buyout (LBO) and growth transactions throughout Poland and the Baltic States. Previously, he worked as an Analyst in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) team of Darby Overseas Investment, a private equity and mezzanine arm of Franklin Templeton. He began his career in the Transaction Advisory Services Department at EY.

Michal holds a master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, along with double Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and in Management from Warsaw University. He also spent a semester at the University of Antwerp in Belgium and successfully completed all exams in the ACCA program.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Kerstin Knueppel gained more than a decade of experience in the international luxury hotel industry and most recently worked at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers AG (PwC) as a partner and team assistant in the M&A department.

Kerstin gained the certificate “Executive Assistant Federal Diploma of Higher Education”.

Benjamin Mäder supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Benjamin gained relevant transaction experience as Senior Consultant Deal Advisory at KPMG. Previously, Benjamin was an Associate at LGT Capital Partners, where he made investments in private equity funds.

Benjamin Mäder holds a Masters in Finance from IE Business School (Madrid), a Bachelor in Business Administration from Zurich University of Applied Sciences and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Nicoletta Torretti is Portfolio Manager at U Fund Services and is responsible for the implementation of investment portfolio and marketing policies and procedures, and carrying out the statutory/regulatory duties.

Before joining UFS, Nicoletta worked as Portfolio Marketing Manager at IQEQ responsible for the Portfolio Investment Approval, the Ongoing monitoring of a portfolio of closed-ended AIFs with more than hundreds Investment Transactions analyzed and approved.
Prior to that, she worked at the European Parliament in the Accounting and Treasuring Unity being responsible for the application of the Financial Regulation and monitoring the transaction within the SAP interface.

Nicoletta holds a Master´s degree in Finance Management Engineer and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Engineer both from Politecnico of Milan. She also completed several internships in Milan and Finland as Management Engineer working on the implementation of Finance Market Place and SAP Platform for SME.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Daniela Moser worked as a back office and marketing assistant for a project management service provider in the financial industry and a company in the cosmetics industry. Prior to that, she gained experience as a Marketing Coordinator for a manufacturer of high quality plant extracts for the cosmetics industry. She was also Product Manager at a manufacturer of injection systems for diabetics.

Daniela Moser completed her training as a Commercial Employee EFZ and has completed further training as a Marketing Planner with a federal diploma and CAS Digital Marketing Specialist.

Youssef Oussine is Risk & Operations Manager at U Fund Services and is responsible for the implementation of risk compliance policies and procedures, carrying out the statutory/regulatory duties, as well as acting as the RC for all Ufenau Funds.

Before joining UFS, Youssef worked as Risk & Valuation Manager at IQEQ responsible for the ongoing risk monitoring of a portfolio of closed-ended AIFs focused on all asset classes: Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt, Fund of Funds, and Infrastructure.

Prior to that, he worked at IQEQ Group supporting the Group Management Board and the Group Executive Committee in their roles and various duties to further expand the organic and inorganic growth of the Company.
Youssef holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He also completed several internships in Canada and Luxembourg as a Marketing and Communication Officer.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Lila worked as an executive assistant at the Greek Ministry of Development. In Madrid, Lila worked as an executive assistant for the Greek Embassy´s Public Relations Team, in accordance with the Spanish royal protocol. She was also in charge of promotion to increase the country’s tourism.

Lila also worked for Iris Media, a Marketing Agency and then for IOT, a multinational technological company as an executive assistant of a group dedicated to launch an American project in Spain and Europe. Her last job was with Garcia Saavedra Abogados, a Spanish law firm, specialized in merchant law.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Emilie Pichler worked in the travel industry.

After completing her commercial education, she gained several years of experience as a travel expert in an international travel company.

Davide Maccaferri supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Davide Maccaferri gained his first transaction experience through his internship at Ufenau. Furthermore, he is familiar with various topics in the field of asset management, private equity and wealth management through his positions at Mirabaud Asset Management (Fund Sales and Swiss Equity Analyst) and during his commercial banking training at Berner Kantonalbank.

Davide Maccaferri holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ESADE Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Banking and Finance from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. In addition, he gained experience during a semester abroad at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA.

Laurenz Samanns is part of UCP’s Investment Team and works on the execution of transactions and supports our portfolio companies operationally.

Pascal Kochem supports the investment team to execute transactions as well as with research and analysis tasks.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Pascal Kochem gained experience in private equity at Auctus Capital Partners in Munich and as Head of Business Development and M&A at Kanalservice Group, a portfolio company of Ufenau. Since the beginning of his career in transaction consulting at KPMG in Zurich, he has focused on building up medium-sized groups of companies and succession solutions.

Pascal Kochem completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in Accounting & Finance at the University of St. Gallen and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Moritz’s previous professional experience at zeb consulting was characterised by reorganisation and restructuring projects. Moritz Furrer received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a focus on International Trade from the University of Bayreuth and completed his Master’s degree in Management & Economics at the University of Zurich with a focus on Corporate Finance. In addition, he gained experience during a semester abroad at Columbia University in New York City.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Marius Buxkämper was responsible for investments in the D/A/CH region as part of the investment team at the medium-sized investment company ECM Equity Capital Management in Frankfurt am Main. Prior to that, he worked with Deutsche Bank AG and GE Capital on (acquisition) financings for medium-sized companies and investment companies.

Marius Buxkämper trained as a banker at Sparkasse Westmünsterland and holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He also gained experience during a semester abroad at UNSW – University of New South Wales in Sydney.

Christian Meyer-Busche completed his Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and his Bachelor of Honors in Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow. In addition, he gained experience during semesters abroad at the City University of Hong Kong and the Rotman School, University of Toronto.

José Roig supports the Spanish investment team in the execution of transactions and in the portfolio companies operationally.

Engagement Manager at McKinsey&Co, where he advised international companies on strategic and operational matters. Previously, he gained private equity experience through internships at the investment houses Avior Capital and Hillwood Partners. Additionally, he founded a QSR Start-up and is a Spanish Lawyer.

Between 2018 and 2020, he worked as a research assistant at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences in the department of financial services and investments.

Lukas Compagnoni holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Banking and Finance from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences.

Christina Mankus has been working closely with Ufenau Capital Partners and our portfolio companies since 2015.

She is an independent management consultant since 2013 and advises, supports and empowers business owners, executives, management teams and entire organisations in and towards individually defined objectives.

Previously, Christina held various national and international management positions including SVP Global Business Development in Zurich at Adecco SA, Business Unit Manager IT at DIS AG, Branch Manager, Sales and Production Manager for leather wear in Turkey and India.

Rachid Jellouli is Head of Funds and Head of Risk & Compliance at Ufenau Capital Partners and Managing Director of U Fund Services S.à r.l. He oversees the day-to-day operations of all Ufenau Funds. His responsibilities span finance, fund reporting, accounting, valuation, risk, compliance, project management, and fundraising. Rachid set up the fund business and founded the subsidiary U Fund Services S.à r.l. in Luxembourg. In his dual role, he is dedicated to ensuring the operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across Ufenau Capital Partners’ fund management activities.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Rachid worked as an Audit Manager at PwC Zurich in Asset Management division, as an Anti-Money Laundering Auditor in the Regulatory and Compliance division, and as an adviser in the Regulatory Compliance Service department. Prior to that, he was an Audit Senior at KPMG Luxembourg in the Asset Management division and responsible for audit engagements of UCITS and PE Funds.

Rachid holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business with a specialization in Finance and Accounting from the School of Business and Economics in Maastricht.

Beli Nguyen supports the investment team in the execution of transactions as well as in analysis and research tasks.

Prior to joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Beli Nguyen was a private equity analyst at AUCTUS Capital Partners. Prior to that, she gained experience in M&A (goetzpartners), corporate banking (BNP Paribas) and corporate audit (PwC).

Beli Nguyen completed her bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Mannheim and was at the University of Dayton during her au pair time in the US.

Maximilian Huber holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and a Master of Finance & IT from the Technical University of Munich. During his studies he gained international experience at the University of California Irvine (USA) and at Curtin University (Australia).

Tobias Welzel supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Tobias Welzel gained relevant transaction experience through previous internships at Deloitte (Transaction Advisory Services), CapitalMind (M&A) and ZF Group (Post-Merger Integration ZF/ TRW Automotive).
Additionally, through the foundation of a FinTech Start-up and a non-profit consultancy during his studies, Tobias got insights into financing, marketing & sales and process optimization activities.

Ignacio Goded supports the investment team to execute transactions as well as with research and analysis tasks.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Ignacio Goded completed a Restructuring Services Internship at KPMG and a 2-year Transactions Rotational Program at Ernst & Young. Additionally, through the foundation of an E-Commerce Start-up, Ignacio got insights into financing, marketing & sales and process optimization activities.

Ignacio Goded holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School. Besides his studies in Barcelona (Spain), he studied abroad at Georgetown University in Washington DC (USA).

Martin Castrischer supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Martin Castrischer worked as Private Equity Associate at Cross Equity Partners and M&A Analyst at Lazard.

Martin Castrischer has a Bachelor’s as well as Master’s degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Zurich.

Kevin Elsässer supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Kevin gained extensive experience at capiton. Through previous internships at Palladio Partners, Belgravia & Co., and Commerzbank, he acquired solid knowledge in the areas of M&A and fundraising.

Kevin Elsässer holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Management and a Master’s degree with a focus on Finance from EBS University of Business and Law (Oestrich-Winkel). Additionally, he gained international experience during his semester abroad at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

He supports the portfolio companies operationally as well as the Investment Team in the execution of transactions.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Nathanael Meier gained experience in project management, accounting as well as financing.

Nathanael Meier earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and his Master’s degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Bern.

Richard Lustig is a Partner at Ufenau Capital Partners, bringing over 15 years of industry and private equity experience. He has been with Ufenau since 2018.

Before joining Ufenau, Richard Lustig worked in the healthcare portfolio at Auctus Capital Partners. From 2007 to 2016, he held roles in strategy, IT, audit, and corporate finance at the chemical and pharmaceutical conglomerate Bayer.

Richard Lustig holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science for Business from FHDW (Germany), a Master’s degree with distinction from Hult International Business School (USA), and a Master’s in Finance from London Business School (UK).

Joaquín Alcalde is a partner at Ufenau Capital Partners and heads the Ufenau office in Madrid. He has over 17 years of experience in strategy consulting and private equity.

Before joining Ufenau Capital Partners, Joaquín Alcalde gained private equity experience as an Investment Director at the buyout house H.I.G. Capital in Madrid, where he led several LBO and growth transactions throughout Spain. Previously, he was a Consulting Manager at McKinsey&Co, where he advised international companies on strategic and operational matters. Between 2008 and 2012, he worked as an Associate with an US fund and with Abengoa, an international engineering and services company. Joaquín is also an Adjunct Professor at IE University, holding seminars in the field of Finance and Private Equity.

He holds a double degree in engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Spain, and from Ecole Central Paris in France. He also coursed with honours and distinction an MBA at Columbia Business School sponsored by the Rafael del Pino Foundation.

Adrian Hess is a partner at Ufenau Capital Partners. He has more than 12 years of professional experience in private equity and is since 2012 with Ufenau.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Adrian Hess worked at the Fribourg Cantonal Bank in various positions in the area of personal and business loans, gaining important experience in connection with financing SMEs.

Adrian Hess holds a dual-language Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Fribourg School of Economics and completed a Master of Advanced Studies in Banking and Finance at the University of Zurich.

He has over 30 years of operational experience in the healthcare sector and was the global CEO of the listed HARTMANN Group for 6 years before joining Ufenau Capital Partners. He combines practical management experience in industry, also in foreign cultures, with sound financial knowledge.

Paul Hartmann AG is a leading international provider of nursing and medical products with sales of EUR 2.5bn and 11’000 employees at more than 70 locations.

Prior Paul Hartmann, Andreas lead the Surgical Division at the Swedish Mölnlycke Health Care Group with sales of EUR 600m and over 5’000 employees and also worked internationally for the Danish Coloplast Group and the 3M Group.

In 2016 he graduated as Certified Director (INSEAD, Fontainebleau), in addition to his studies at INSEAD (Fontainebleau/Singapore), IMD (Lausanne) and Duke University (North Carolina).

Marinus Schmitt is Partner at Ufenau Capital Partners. He has more than 17 years of professional experience in private equity and 2 years in corporate finance. Marinus has been with Ufenau since its inception and is responsible for managing portfolio companies as well as fundraising.

Prior to Ufenau Capital Partners, Marinus worked at Quarton International in Zurich – a global M&A & corporate finance house. The focus was on corporate transactions in the mid-market sector in the D/A/CH region.

Marinus holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Zurich. He is married and has one daughter.

From 2006 until 2009 Dieter Scheiff was CEO of Adecco, the largest global staffing company with sales of above EUR 20bn.

Prior to Adecco, Dieter was CEO of publicly listed German staffing company DIS AG. DIS AG represented a market leading staffing company which he developed via add-on acquisitions until DIS was acquired by Adecco in 2006. Until 2001, Dieter was VP of the European business of the pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson Cordis and was leading the German operations as CEO. His career began in 1979 at the US corporation 3M, where he held various management positions gaining insights and experience in different areas.

Dieter has a degree in Business Administration from University of Aachen.

Prior founding Ufenau Capital Partners, Ralf Flore was 5 years CEO of a publicly listed private equity company and based in Frankfurt and Zurich.

Before this tenure, Ralf was Investment Director at Go Equity in Vienna and was responsible for growth capital and buyouts in the DACH-region. Between 2000-2004, he was Analyst and then Investment manager at Swiss Life Private Equity Partners and Capvis Equity Partners in Zurich.

Ralf Flore started his career as a commercial trainee in a SME company and has a degree in Business Administration.
